"The Book of Mormon" is Still on a Mission

Nearly a decade following its smash-hit Broadway debut, "the best musical of this century" (The New York Times) is still ringing doorbells to sold-out crowds nationwide.

Having raked in nine Tony awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, a lengthy list of tour dates allows The Book of Mormon to dazzle audiences across the country with"the filthiest, most offensive, and — surprise — sweetest thing you’ll see on Broadway this year" (Vogue).

Created by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q’s Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon is an old-fashioned showtune with modern sensibility.

The blockbuster show features several big song-and-dance numbers accompanied by some classic Broadway belting. An equal-opportunity offender, the show pokes fun at religion, sexuality, global poverty, and race, all the while asking poignant questions about humanity's place in the world today.

The show has not faltered since its premiere and, in May of 2019, surpassed Grease as Broadway's 15th-longest-running musical. Weeks later, in July, it climbed to number 14 by supplanting 42nd Street.
